DMA Juniors (7 - 12 Year Olds)
For children of seven years of age and above, the Discovery system teaches a combination of Wing Chun and Escrima as its base, in an exiting programme that can help them to increase their self-confidence, beat bullying, develop advanced motor skills and, if it is ever necessary (although we would hope they never need to), defend themselves.
To maintain their interest in the syllabus, we ensure that we teach inspiring martial arts moves to students of all levels – the sorts of techniques learnt by martial arts legends such as Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan.
The programme for older children also uses martial arts as a vehicle to teach Eight Core Life Skills – Teamwork, Balance, Control, Memory, Discipline, Fitness, Focus and Co-ordination. In addition, we aim to help students develop social skills and leadership skills, including teamwork, group/environmental awareness, rapport/communication skills and confidence in leading groups.
